Custom Hearing Protection
Custom hearing protection can provide you a snug, comfortable and some of the best hearing protection possible, protecting and preserving your hearing health in noisy situations.
Our exposure to noise is common — and dangerous
We’re surrounded by noise in our daily lives. Some of us are exposed to loud noises in our professions, some attend loud events like concerts or live sports, and pretty much all of us can be exposed to loud noises in even the most seemingly mundane activities. Noise-induced hearing loss is one of the most common reasons that people experience hearing loss. Repetitious or prolonged exposure to loud noises above 85 decibels (dBs) can cause permanent hearing loss. To provide you some context, the average conversation is about 60 dBs. A very noisy restaurant can be as loud as 90 dBs. A loud sporting event? As many as 130 dBs. A gunshot? 140 dBs.That’s some loud stuff, and it can cause ever-lasting damage. It’s also important to note that we’re a society that is increasingly wearing in-ear or over the ear headphones to stream music or other audio directly into our ear. It’s not uncommon for people to be listening at volumes up to 115 dBs, which can be detrimental to your hearing.
Custom hearing protection can make all the difference. Associated Hearing specializes in custom hearing protection for everyone who needs it, especially our friends in the music, hunting, and shooting communities who are regularly exposed to loud noises that can cause great harm to their hearing.
We personalize your hearing protection by carefully and comfortably taking impressions of your ears, using those impressions to create custom-molded earplugs that fit precisely in your ears’ unique anatomy. We can also specialize these plugs so that folks like musicians can still hear the music with a sense of clarity, but with none of the danger that comes with too-loud sounds. (We can help you with custom-fit in-ear monitors, too!)
Exceptional protection, comfort, and performance. Sound interesting? It should! Your hearing matters so much. It’s our honor to help you preserve it.
